Whilst working as an Uber Driver and studying full-time, I took what was then a preliminary plan of Croydon FM and used it as my end of year project finishing Middlesex University with a First Class Hons.
Rather than leave the idea on paper I took the necessary steps to make Croydon FM a tangible asset of the community.
One of the joys of Croydon FM is having the ability to create opportunities across the community whether it be in employment, training or exposure for new and emerging artists.
Coming from a musical background I understand the importance of having a local outlet to be heard, in addition to having a platform for the community to express themselves.
I’ve always been heavily involved in music having studied Music Technology and then going onto further education by studying Music Business at Middlesex University, where I successfully graduated with a First Class Hons.
This is also where I met Clive, who at the time explained his vision for Croydon FM, it’s been full speed ahead ever since!
One of the pleasures of being apart of Croydon FM is witnessing the growth of the individuals who join the CFM team and develop within their role, in addition to the stations progress from strength to strength - Our platform is truly a force to be reckoned with.
KARA EVANS- BRIGHT
Music Assistant (Music Submissions)
My journey started when I was 14 studying at the renowned Brit School with fellow creatives such as Leona Lewis, Amy Winehouse, Marcia Ambrosia (to name a few!)
I then embarked on various creative jobs roles within media before taking time out to start a family although, I still had a burning desire for music media.
Returning to education as a mature student studying A&R and Artist Management at the Notting Hill Academy whilst also managing artists, introduced me to a whole new world in the entertainment sector
As a music enthusiast always keeping my ear to the streets my role at Croydon FM grants ample opportunities to discover and support new talent in what is becoming a great platform for Artists.
