Popular crime television series 'Power' ended its six-season saga this February but fans are in luck as producer 50 cent and the team at Starz network have confirmed that it will live on through a series of spin off shows. It is rumoured there will be four different spin-offs, the first of the bunch being 'Power Book II: Ghost' which is set to be released this September.
50 cent took to Instagram earlier this week to post the the show's offical cover, captioning it "The wait is over. Power Book II: Ghost premieres this September. Tune in for an exclusive teaser this Sunday on the @Starz App. #PowerBook2 #PowerNeverEnds."
The upcoming series is set to pick up where things left off at the end of season six after Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey) murdered father James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) and his mother, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), was put in jail for the murder. The spin-off is said to focus on Michael Rainey's character Tariq and how he navigates his life now he is truly alone, with no one to guide him.
New cast members have also been announced with the likes of Mary J Blige and Method Man setting to star in the series. Blige's' character is said to be an "iron-fisted business women" based in Queens named Monet Stewart Tejada and Method Man is said to play "a serious, hard-driving defence attorney named Davis Maclean" hired by Tariq to free Tasha from jail.
For fans it's been a rollercoaster ride for the last few months as they came to terms with the shows end in February then to be given hope in later months that a spin-off would premiere in June, only to face disappointment due to COVID-19 delaying filming. However, good news is back in town as fans now await the release in September.
