On March 6th Uzi surprised fans by dropping his second studio album a week earlier than anticipated
Early on Friday morning Lil Uzi Vert unexpectedly announced the early release of his brand new album 'Eternal Atake'. The surprise evidently fuelling listeners excitement even more as every song on the album debuted inside the top 20 on Spotify's US daily stream chart. This being the first time since Christmas Day that Roddy Ricch's single "The Box" was not at number 1. He is also on course for the album to become his second number 1 album on the Billboard 200 Chart (this expected to be revealed on March 15th.)
It is the rappers second studio album after 2017s "Luv Is Rage 2' which saw the launch into his career in mainstream music. Due to the long wait of 2 years fans had to endure for new music it is safe to say the rapper had a lot to live up to in order to fulfil his fans high expectations.
The album showcases various references to pop culture as well a wealth of samples from the likes Ariana Grande all the way to the Back Street Boys. He also takes samples from two of Travis Scotts tracks "Way Back" and "Prices" which he evidenced in the original trailer of the album. Other samples also include a live recording from Tyler The Creators performance at Camp Flag Naw in 2019.
The wealth of producers he used to create the album also playing a large role in creating the intergalactic sounds that blend so well with the hip hop beats we hear on all the tracks. On his track "you better move" (produced by Brandon Finessin) we even hear the use of sound effects taken from Microsoft Windows 2000 and the XP Space Cadet Pinball game.
Lil Uzi Vert has also teased fans, hinting that 10 new songs will supposedly feature in the deluxe version of the album, stating that he has only really released half of the album and that the other half is on its way. The 10 news songs expecting to include some interesting features with the likes of Future, Lil Baby, Young Thug and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
Overall, it's safe to say the album is a success and fans were left anything but disappointed. Bring on the deluxe version of the album Uzi, we're ready!
