Updated: Jun 22, 2021

This weeks new music Friday showcases new projects from AJ Tracey, RV, Saweetie and Young Thug.

This Friday saw a wealth of new album releases from Hip-Hop and Rap stars from across the globe so we felt it was only right to share some of our favourites with you. With summertime looming and restrictions beginning to ease, it couldn't be a better time for new music.

Check out the list of new releases below!

AJ Tracey - Flu Game

AJ Tracey's highly-anticipated, second studio album 'Flu Game' is finally here! The central theme of the project is inspired by sports and the 90's/early 00's, the name of the album itself drawing inspiration from an NBA Finals match where Michael Jordan lead the Chicago Bulls to a two-point victory despite suffering with food poisoning. In a recent interview Tracey explained that the sentiment behind the project and the connection to Michael Jordan's winning match, saying it's about "when we go through hard times, but you have to always make sure you put your best foot forward and be great to try to break boundaries." It's no doubt the West London Rapper has been a big player in the UK Rap game for some time now and we can expect this latest release will only bring him to new heights.

Young Thug - Slime Language 2

The sequel to 'Slime Language' has arrived and from what we've seen so far it's lined to up to be a big hit, just like the original. Young Thug and his very own label Young Stoner Life have teamed up to bring us this star-studded project, boasting a whopping 23 tracks. The album is filled with iconic guest features including the likes of Drake, Skepta, Meek Mill, Travis Scott and more.

RV - Rico Vondelle

It's been 2 years since RV's last solo project so it's no surprise that fans were more than excited by the release of his brand new mixtape, simply titled 'Rico Vondelle.' The tape showcases a number of hard-hitting drill tracks, the style of music he is known and loved for, although within the project he also manages to display his versatility as an artist, taking on a selection of new genres we've yet to hear from RV.

Saweetie - Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1

It's safe to say Saweetie is getting us all warmed up and ready for summer with the release of her new 7 track EP 'Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1.' The Californian rapper uses this project to uplift and showcase upcoming talent, calling upon some of her favourite rising stars to feature. When speaking on the release, Saweetie wrote “every summer I’m sharing my platform and dropping a fly ass playlist featuring artists who are up next."
