Usain Bolt becomes a father for the first time after girlfriend Kasi Bennett gives birth to a baby girl
Olympic gold medalist and sprinting legend Usain Bolt and partner Kasi Bennett welcomed their first child to the world on Sunday. The news came after Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holmes tweeted his congratulations to the pair, confirming their baby girls arrival. Holmes wrote "Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their baby girl." This resulted in a social media frenzy of congratulatory messages although neither Usain or Kasi have spoken publicly about the birth yet, meaning the baby's name and other details are yet to be revealed.
Bolt told fans back in January that him and girlfriend Kasi were expecting when he posted a picture on Instagram cradling her baby bump in a breathtaking red gown, captioning it "I just want to say a KING or QUEEN is about to be HERE." The couple also hosted a spectacular gender reveal party in March which featured fireworks and an all star guest list to which he then posted a video on social media announcing to the public "I just did the reveal and I'm a girl dad."
The superstar athlete also revealed in the past that he wouldn't push any of his children to pursue athletics, knowing the pressure they may feel to live up to his legacy. He said "That´s going to be hard for my kid. If they want to do it, I'm fine with it. But initially I'm going to say don't do it, because I know the pressure that will come along with it."
Usain revealed prior to the news of the pregnancy that he had hoped to have children with his long time girlfriend Kasi in the near future after enjoying years of their lowkey romance which first began back in 2014.
